YOGA

Yoga is a mind and body practice. I teach Hatha Raja yoga - a combination of physical postures, breathing techniques, meditation and relaxation to promote mental and physical well-being. I have been teaching yoga since 2018 after completing the Yoga Alliance Professionals 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training as taught by Yoga Jo’s.

One reason why yoga is so popular is that it helps you feel harmonious, integrated and complete. As you learn to practise finding your centre in a yoga posture, you practise finding centre in other areas of your life too. In a broader sense, the practice of yoga can train you to deal better with life events.

Yoga is actually a state of mind. The word yoga comes from the Sanskrit word yuj which can be translated ‘to unite, to join, to connect’. Think body, mind and spirit. Yoga can also be defined as ‘stilling the mind’. Achieving this state of mind is a rather intangible goal for most of us. However, when you start regularly moving your body in harmony with your breath, your body will become more receptive to the profound experience of inner stillness.

1:1 & 2:1 Yoga

These highly tailored private sessions are where you’ll received undivided attention from an experienced physiotherapist & yoga teacher.

Why choose 1:1 / 2:1 yoga over a class?

  • Accelerate results since the session is 100% geared towards your own physical capabilities

  • Work completely at your own pace - learn & build on the basic postures and movements - or maybe you want to advance your level beyond what a class setting may allow for

  • Focus directly on working towards your own goals

  • Safely recover & rehabilitate from injury with professional guidance in an enjoyable way

  • Flexibility & convenience with appointments (unlike fixed time for classes)

  • Buddy up with a friend (2:1) - a private session for 2 people is a more cost effective way of receiving a highly personalised yoga experience than 1:1

How much does yoga 1:1 / 2:1 cost?

  • Private 1:1 session (60 mins) - £60

  • Block of 4 x 1:1 sessions - £220

  • Private 2:1 session (60 mins) - £70

  • Block of 4 x 2:1 sessions - £260

The yoga classes are small, with a maximum of five participants, and so we each receive a lot of individual attention. She is very supportive and encouraging and makes every effort to adapt movements to suit each person’s level. Since working with Diane, my mobility, muscle strength and balance have noticeably improved and, as a “not too young person”, these changes are invaluable.

Diane is a great yoga teacher - very professional, instructive and helps you get the most out of each class. She has a very relaxing calm teaching style which benefits both beginners and more experienced yogi’s! No 2 classes are the same. I’ve been going to her mens classes for just over a month, and feel the benefits already. Sleeping better, feeling more energised, less aches and pains. She has a really lovely relaxing studio, a nice space to practice yoga. Would highly recommend her yoga classes to anyone of any level.

I began my yoga journey with Diane 9 months ago via Zoom as I was aware of my increasingly poor hip mobility and long-standing low back pain. Diane is an excellent teacher - explaining the movements simply and is able to tailor the class to our needs on the day. Classes ‘flow’ beautifully and I am amazed how gentle movements and postures combined with correct breathing have improved my mobility as well as significantly reducing my pain. I highly recommend yoga with Diane.

I’ve been attending Diane’s yoga and Pilates classes for a while now. I started in my early 50s, unfit and over weight, now in my 60s and I’ve never been stronger or more flexible. This improvement in fitness translates into every aspect of my life and is such an benefit. Diane’s approach is thoughtful and supportive, pushing you to do things you never thought you could do before you know it! Classes are fun, relaxed and so beneficial! Would thoroughly recommend!
